Thunderstorms over northern WA have caused atmospheric gravity waves to spread out over the Indian Ocean during the last few days. While the gravity waves themselves are invisible, they can be seen in this sequence of satellite images thanks to bands of clouds forming along the wave crests. This video also shows a large plume of dust being ejected off the north coast of WA as wind flows offshore.
