A PICC Line infection can be a VERY serious issue if left untreated. Thank god the doctor caught it in time and we were able to get it removed. A PICC line is an IV that is connected directly into the Vena Cava which is a vein that is very close in proximity to your heart. If your Picc line gets infected then the infection can easily spread to your heart. We are very lucky to have caught it in time and gotten it removed.
