Major League Baseball's return to NBC this season will feature a pair of marquee Opening Day matchups, Wild Card Series postseason games, a special "Star-Spangled Sunday" slate on July 5 and the return of Sunday Night Baseball and MLB Sunday Leadoff.

As things stand, Philadelphia's options at catcher are career backups Rafael Marchán and Garrett Stubbs. Victor Caratini and Jonah Heim are the top free agent catchers behind Realmuto, and trade candidates include Ryan Jeffers ( Twins) and Tyler Stephenson ( Reds ). One way or another, expect the Phillies to add a backstop in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the top four players on Kiley McDaniel's ranking of the top 50 free agents remain unsigned: Kyle Tucker, Framber Valdez, Cody Bellinger and Alex Bregman. Bo Bichette, the No. 7 player on the list, is also still on the market, along with three other players in the top 20 -- Ranger Suarez, Zac Gallen and Eugenio Suarez.

It’s not just the Guardians faithful who feel that Cleveland holds onto its prospects for too long. In a recent executive poll conducted by MLB.com, the Guardians received the title for the organization that “hoards prospects” the most, finishing with 34.1 percent of the vote.

The MLB commissioner said the league is missing a key marketing window during an offseason that continues to test New York fans’ patience.
