The Buffalo Sabres have announced that they have recalled defenseman Zac Jones from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Rochester Americans.

Anaheim’s young roster is headlined by talented, high-scoring forwards such as Leo Carlsson (42 points), Cutter Gauthier (40 points), and Beckett Sennecke (33 points) – all of whom were first-round draft picks in the past four years.

But with the benefit of hindsight, it seems the Sabres got this controversial trade right. Doan has been a fantastic addition to the Sabres. As Harman Dayal noted in The Athletic regarding Doan:

News10NBC’s affiliate in Buffalo reports that the Buffalo Sabres are in talks with the NHL to host the 2026 NHL Draft. Last year, the NHL shifted to a decentralized structure, meaning all the teams operated from their home locations rather than at the draft itself.

The Sabres have 48 points through 41 games. That puts them on pace for 96 points, which would be the team’s most since 2010-11, the last season Buffalo made the playoffs. With the season at the midway point,

Former Buffalo Sabres goaltender James Reimer has signed an AHL professional tryout (PTO) with the Ottawa Senators, TSN's Darren Dreger reports. Dreger also shared that Reimer is expected to join Ottawa's roster "in a few days" with an NHL contract.
